Managers must not only encourage self-responsibility but also set expectations and empower both individuals and teams with the capability to take responsibility for and manage as much of their work life as possible.
Ruth Carter has many friends! I accepted the invitation to edit this volume in April, because of my long association with Ruth and my wish to provide a fitting tribute to her years of service to the journal.
